A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR OUR IAFT STUDENTS

In recent months, I have been working on a series of big projects. One of these projects involves the registration for the Non-local Course Registry, part of the long process of acquiring accreditation for IAFT’s internationally recognised programs in Hong Kong. For our programs to become more beneficial to the local students, we are also working towards obtaining the BTEC Higher National Diploma status awarded in the UK. This means that they would achieve a dual award upon graduating in our programs. Hence, they could be admitted into Year 2/Year 3 of a similar program at the University level.

Having worked in the Higher Education sector for more than ten years, I have observed a vast variety of new subjects being offered throughout the decade. People are not just interested in business programs now; they are also more inclined to apply for creative media courses.

Next week, our staff members will be attending the HKTDC Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART). This is a certainly an exciting event for the Filmmaking industry as “one of Asia’s biggest Media related events where there will be many global industry professionals allowing them to share their experience with amateurs”. We’re very excited to attend and have the chance to develop our relationships further with key players in the Hong Kong film industry. During our time at the fair, we also hope to build on our relationships with Hong Kong production companies, thus increasing the number of choices our students have when it comes to fulfilling their internship requirement.
