“I’m a proud graduate of IAFT Cebu. I’m from Iloilo City where we don’t have formalized trainings in filmmaking. IAFT prepared me for opportunities I encountered along the way. I had so much fun and I met talented students who eventually became my family in making films. IAFT will lay the groundwork to a successful filmmaking career.” –TM Malones

“I was born in Moscow, Russia. I hold an Economics Degree from the University of Cambridge, and upon arriving in Hong Kong, trained with the Russian Ballet. After graduating from the Certificate Program in Performance art – Acting with IAFT HK, I enrolled in the Diploma Program in Filmmaking. For me, IAFT is about the people. It is a warm, welcoming community of talented, creative, and inspirational professionals from the field of acting and filmmaking. The teaching approach is very personal and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I cannot recommend it highly enough!” – Natalia Nie
“For as long as I can remember, I have had an interest in films. After much consideration, I decided to pursue filmmaking seriously. With limited knowledge, I decided that the first step would be to study filmmaking. That’s when I got to know IAFT. I started with Independent Filmmaking, and am now enrolled in the BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Creative Media Production. Personally, this has been a great experience for me as it has provided many opportunities for me to grow and learn the ins and outs of what goes into filmmaking, not to mention meeting people with the same interests.
In the near future, I have definite plans to venture into the Nepalese Film industry as it has always been the core aspect of my inspiration. Either way, local or international, I wish to be part of this progressive and vibrant environment which I am sincerely passionate about, and IAFT is making that possible.” – Bevan Mall
“I enrolled in the 6-month Certificate in Filmmaking Program in January 2014 to further my skills in not only scriptwriting but cinematography, editing, production, sound, lighting and more. It was during this time that I also discovered my love of making documentaries, enjoying the very human aspects of telling real life stories. I enjoyed the whole filmmaking and learning experience so much that I decided to extend onto the full 1-year Diploma course, graduating from IAFT with my Diploma in Filmmaking. I set up ManBright Films Ltd in Hong Kong, a small company offering Production services such as Editing , Scriptwriting, Fixing and Camera work, and Documentary making.
In the summer of 2015, through IAFT, I gained an internship at Video ChaCHa in Wanchai, and am now a fully fledged freelance member of Video ChaCha.
I have also taken on filming and editing work through 2 IAFT mentors, Steven Ballantyne (with EPM Asia Ltd) and Seth Henderson (with F8 Photography), and am building my portfolio of work.” – Gary Brown
