Featured Alumni - Johnny Obando
Recently, we were able to catch up with Miami Film School graduate, Jhonny Obando, to see what he's done since graduating. Or more accurately, what he hasn't done. Since graduating from MFS, Jhonny has gone on to write and direct 2 more short films, as well as produce and edit 2 others. He's also found the time to win a few awards, namely "Best Short - Florida Focus" at the Miami International Film Festival, "Best Short of the Year" at the Miami Life Awards, and "Special Juror Mention" at the West Hollywood International Film Fest.

For about 5 years during my career I was a consultant for international productions all over the World. This entailed training and teaching television companies and production companies to make their own versions of popular programmes from the US or UK.

Motivation for the Soul – Workshop*
Use acting techniques and exercises in your daily life. Donna Rosario is the founder of Pusong Pinoy (Heart of a Filipino) a global non-profit organization with over 32,000 members. She graduated at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a film degree and uses her skills to motivate and coach individuals. Learn to become a “blank-slate” through a series of calming exercises, improvisation, and character-driven study. Start acting positively from the inside out.
*10% of the class fee will be donated to Pusong Pinoy to buy books for underprivileged children in the Philippines.

Learn the in's and out's of the business with acting and auditioning tips from our mentor, Leslie Ann Huff who earned her stripes working on Disney's Sunny with a Chanceand MacKenzie Falls, as well as host of other shows including Bones, CSI: New York, andGreek.
You'll learn what casting agents are looking for in a headshot as well as how to make yourself more commercially sellable. Through character driven study, improvisation, and a partner scene study, you'll grow as an actor and be better prepared to enter the entertainment industry.
