Reykjavík International Film Festival’s Talent Lab seeks participants!
29th of September to 3rd of October
Every year Reykjavík Talent Lab invites aspiring filmmakers to Reykjavík, Iceland, to pitch their ideas and practice their craft. This year Reykjavík Talent Lab will run from September 29th until October 3rd.
Our guests receive intimate masterclasses with leading film industry professionals; recent examples include Béla Tarr, James Marsh and Laurent Cantet. There are also many opportunities to network with producers, directors, journalists and other important figures from the film industry. Last year’s program included a talk by actress Marion Bailey about her work with Mike Leigh, a discussion with Mike Leigh himself and a masterclass with Chris McDonald, director of Hot Docs’ Film Festival.
This year’s programme includes a masterclass with our guest of honour David Cronenberg.
Filmmakers planning their first feature length project are given an opportunity to pitch their ideas to experienced producers at the Talent Lab. Selected films will be screened at the festival and the best short film or documentary will be awarded The Golden Egg, our award for aspiring filmmakers. Icelandic filmmaker Börkur Gunnarsson will greet the participants and guide them through intensive days of workshops, talks, industry meetings, screenings and parties.
Increase your chances of acceptance by applying before the 20th of May!
