"Short Films" FilmPremiere

This past Friday, a few IAFT staff and I were fortunate enough to attend the film premiere of “Short Steps” by Michal Joachimowski. The event was hosted at The Vine Centre in Wan Chai and was mainly attended by friends and family of the filmmakers and International Care Ministries. The hour long documentary chronicled the touching story of Louise (Michal’s wife) and her amazing journey with a choir of 14 Filipino children. Over the course of two and a half years, the choir went from the slums of Bacolod City to performing in grand venues around Hong Kong and the U.S., offering them the experience of a lifetime. The movie was both a touching tale of hope and a sad reminder of the current situation of millions in the Philippines. It was hard to find a dry eye in the house. Hopefully, positive awareness will spread from Michal and Louise’s efforts, inspiring like-minded individuals to get involved.
