THE HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (HKIFF)
The Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) is one of Asia’s most reputable events in Hong Kong. It provides platforms for directors, filmmakers and film professionals to launch new works and present fresh features.
The festival screens over 330 titles from more than 50 countries in 12 major cultural venues across town. HKIFF reaches over 600,000 audience in a year. It includes 5,000 business executives who come to attend the Hong Kong Film and Television Market (FILMART).
With a focus on local new talent, the festival selects the best films from Hong Kong and Chinese cinema. The films are also come from world-class international works. The festival also has seminars, film exhibitions, celebration parties, etc.
HKIFF now calls for entries for the 38th edition. From 15 July 2013 to 31 December 2013, the 38th HKIFF accepts submission for its 6 sections. They include Youth Cinema Competition, Documentary Competition, Short Film Competition, Global Vision, Indie Power and Reality Bites.
In 2013, the 37th HKIFF had responses of over 2,000 film submissions.
The 38th HKIFF will be running from 24 Mar 2014 to 7 April 2014.
